From a small neighborhood spot to a beloved dining destination — here's how the caferio story unfolded.

2009

The First Table

Cafe Rio opened its doors at 9351 E Arapahoe Rd in Greenwood Village, CO. With a 12-item menu and 8 tables, our founders Marco and Elena Rivera served their first guests — and never looked back.

2012

Growing the Menu

After three years of growing demand and rave reviews, we expanded our kitchen and doubled our menu offerings. The caferio brunch menu launched and instantly became a Colorado weekend tradition.

2016

Catering & Events Launch

Responding to overwhelming customer love, Cafe Rio launched its full catering division. From corporate events to intimate celebrations, we brought our bold flavors to gatherings across the United States.

2019

Community & Awards

Cafe Rio was named "Best Local Restaurant" by Colorado Dining Monthly, and we launched our Community Table program — donating meals to local shelters every week as a cornerstone of our brand values.

2023

Digital & Delivery Expansion

We launched our online ordering platform and delivery service, making the full Cafe Rio experience accessible from anywhere in the region. The caferio app hit 10,000 downloads in its first month.

2026
